Do-It-Yourself Methods for Your Car

Sunshine Car Wash Detail Center offers the following car cleaning tips:

Spilled coffee?
Use shaving cream and make sure the shaving cream is the foaming type:
  • Scrape the coffee stain with a dull knife to get the dust off and then vacuum the area thoroughly
  • Squirt on the shaving cream and then rub it in
  • Use a wet sponge to soak up the mess, rinse and repeat
  • Vacuum up the water several times during the cleaning process so that the area won't become saturated with the water causing the carpet to have an odor in the future
  • This technique can be used on leather, vinyl and for fabric upholstery

Water spot removal - hard water from sprinklers
A solution of 50% vinegar and 50% water can be known to remove the hard water spots left behind from a wild sprinkler. Try this solution in an inconspicuous spot and use caution before applying in large doses. If this fails bring it in for a professional detailing at Sunshine Car Wash Detail Center.

Do not use just any soap. Household detergents can strip your car's wax it needs for protection. It can also leave spots and wear marks if left to sit in the hot sun while you wash, rinse and dry your car.

When to wax a new car?
Most have been on the lot for some time, and we highly recommend you treat your new car to a good coat of wax. 

This will protect your clearcoat from many things including tiny scratches from cloth brushes at car washes (other than Sunshine) and to protect it from dirt becoming imbedded into the clear coat through wear & use.
